In the second quarter of 2023, the top five social networking applications on iOS in the Netherlands were WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram Messenger, Facebook, Messenger, and Google Meet. Each app demonstrated unique trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.

WhatsApp Messenger saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, peaking at around 25K in early May and stabilizing around 15K by the end of June. The app maintained a consistent weekly active user base, hovering around 5M throughout the quarter. Revenue remained minimal, with only a few spikes early in the quarter.

Telegram Messenger experienced a steady weekly revenue, ranging from approximately $2.1K to $2.8K. Downloads saw a gradual increase, peaking at nearly 9.9K in mid-June. Active users grew significantly, starting at about 447K and reaching over 530K by the end of June.

Facebook displayed stable weekly revenue between $1.1K and $2.5K. Weekly downloads varied slightly, peaking at roughly 8.2K in early May. Active users showed a slight decline from 1.39M to 1.36M over the quarter.

Messenger maintained consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 5.8K to 6.4K. Weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 1.25M and ending at approximately 1.21M by late June. Revenue was negligible throughout the quarter.

Google Meet experienced relatively stable downloads, ranging from approximately 4.4K to 6.5K. Active users remained consistent, with a slight dip in late May but recovering to around 14.5K by the end of June.
